The situation
Neighbours help each other badly because they cannot find each other. The founder wanted a place to post what you need or what you can give, close to home, with no money involved and without handing your address to strangers.
What we built
- React Native app on a NestJS backend, running on AWS
- Asks, offers and gifts placed on a live map and matched by how close people actually are, with an availability radius each person sets
- Identity verification before anyone can post or accept, so nobody meets an unchecked account
- Location privacy by design: every pin is deliberately fuzzed, and precise coordinates are released only once both sides have agreed to meet
- No money in the app at all, which removes the whole category of payment fraud from a product built on meeting strangers
