The situation

Earned media is sold blind. An agency quotes on a call, a wire publishes into a black box, and the buyer never learns which outlets they actually paid for or what went live afterwards. We wanted to know whether the whole thing could be an ordinary product instead: a catalogue with a price on every outlet, a checkout, an account, and a report at the end that names every link.

What we built

• An order lifecycle computed from the order rather than stored on it, so a cart spanning several brands reports the least advanced state instead of an optimistic one
• Self-serve checkout with a cart that survives a reload, and an eight email sequence that chases the ones abandoned before payment
• A catalogue where every outlet carries a cost, a price and a turnaround, so an order can be priced and its margin checked before it is sold
• Proof that keeps working after delivery: view and download tracking on the report, three news indexes searched for outlets that republished for free, and weekly domain rating tracking
• An admin back office with versioned quotes whose prices lock at quote time, white-label reports for agency resellers, and an audit log covering thirty three action types
• The demand side feeding the same checkout: agent pipelines that find and enrich prospects from newswire feeds, and write the outreach
